WATERLOO-Tristan Dirth has signed a letter of intent to join the RedTail Men's Track & Field team at Hawkeye Community College in for the 2020 season.
Dirth was an amazing thrower in his high school career. The Wapello High School graduate was a two-time state qualifier for the discus throw. He also qualified for the Drake Relays his senior season for discus and rounded out the year with a runner-up finish at state. Dirth was a five-sport athlete at Wapello, where he also competed in baseball, wrestling, football, and bowling.
"We are excited to have him be a part of the team," said RedTail head coach Tyler Mulder. "We think he has the potential to be a top contender at the heptathlon and decathlon."
Dirth is the son of Kami Johnson and Gale Dirth. He plans to join the Nursing program while at Hawkeye.
