RedTails Start Fast But Fall Short

RedTails Start Fast But Fall Short

NORFOLK, NEB.–After a thrilling start Wednesday night, October 2, the RedTails lost their inter-conference matchup with the Northeast Community College Hawks 3-1.

The RedTails played with great energy and cohesiveness, with the first set going back and forth with the Hawks. It came down to the final points, when the RedTails found a way to pull out a gutsy 27-25 victory. Sadly, this would be the only set they would take.

The next three sets flew by as the RedTails couldn't quite put it all together. There were flashes when it seemed they might go on a run but they could not pull themselves out of the hole. The RedTails would fight valiantly, but dropped the next three sets 13-25, 14-25, and 15-25.

"We started off strong and saw a lot of good things," stated interim head coach Tyann Caspers. "Moving forward we need to stay consistent throughout the match."

This loss drops Hawkeye's record to 11-11 overall and 2-3 in conference. The women are in action again Friday, October 4, against Parkland College at the DMACC Invitational Tournament in Boone.
