Elijah Bluhm Signs With Hawkeye Esports
WATERLOO–Esports student-athlete Elijah Bluhm signed with the RedTail Esports program this week.
Bluhm had a unique situation during his high school in which he was "dual-enrolled", splitting time between being homeschooled and attending Osage High School. Despite this, he was involved in many activities in different fields.
The Mitchell County native competed in basketball (two-time Second Team All-conference), track, cross country (state qualifier in the 800-meter), and chess club in addition to Esports. Other activities included choir, model UN (four-time Northern Iowa most honorable delegate), and DECA at Osage High. Additionally, he was a three-time student council member and one of the first students at his school to be named a "student school board member."
"Elijah is a fierce competitor joining us from Osage. At Osage, he led his team to excellent finishes in nationwide tournaments, as well as always being driven to be better and improve," said head Esports coach Billy Howard, "I'm excited to see his mentality transfer over to the collegiate level and help push our program to the next level."
Bluhm's "renaissance man" attitude will certainly make him an outstanding addition to RedTail Nation.
