RedTail Women’s Cross Country competes at Seminole Valley Stampede
CEDAR RAPIDS-The Hawkeye RedTail women's cross country team ran at the Seminole Valley Stampede on October 8, 2022, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Maddie Tieskotter was the first female RedTail to finish the 5K, coming in with a time of 22 minutes, 31.5 seconds. Rachel Rusche and Triniti Etzel both set personal bests at the race. Rusche finished with a time of 22:59.9 and Etzel finished at 24:37.2.
Coach Corinne Gadient looks forward to the rest of the season saying, "The girls keep improving every meet they compete in. In each race leading up to regionals/nationals, they are becoming confident runners and keep picking off competitors one by one. This was Madison Tieskotter's first 5K debut and she hasn't lost a step because she is already running her PR times that she finished in high school. We are still adding a few more faces in the upcoming meets, so we will have a solid women's team."
