Storm Lake Grad Dario Hernandez Rosas Signs with Hawkeye RedTails Soccer
WATERLOO–Storm Lake's Dario Hernandez Rosas has signed a letter of intent to join the men's soccer team at Hawkeye Community College for the 2017-2018 season.
Hernandez helped lead Storm Lake to the Iowa High School Boys State Soccer Tournament in 2016, where the Tornadoes placed second in Class 2A. Hernandez finished the 2016 season with 21 goals, scoring in all but two games and scoring multiple goals in four games. He also led the team with 14 assists on the season. He was one of three players selected for the Iowa Soccer Coaches Association All-State Boys Soccer Team. Hernandez played one season at Iowa Lakes Community College, where he transitioned from forward to midfield and played in 10 games.
He is the son of Jose de Jesus Hernandez and Elodia Rosas and he plans to enroll in the Liberal Arts Transfer program.
