RedTails Esports Program Signs Alexander Shepard

WATERLOO- The esports team signed Alexander Shepard this past week. 

Shepard, a native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, will attend Hawkeye Community College for two years before transferring to a university to continue his education. 

At Cedar Falls High, Shepard was an active participant of the esports team. His decision to go to Hawkeye was influenced by the opportunity to be a RedTail student-athlete, and coach Billy Howard is excited with his new signing. 

"Alex is a strong addition to our roster that is already in the conversation for a national championship this year," coach Howard said. "His ability to hit shots in the DPS role will give us a huge amount of flexibility in our lineup next year." 

He is the son of  Duayne Shepard.
