Bio
Joshua Myers, Esports Coach for Hawkeye Community College, has been enchanted by the competitive video gaming since the early 1990’s. Josh launched into the competitive gaming scene in his mid-teens, achieving rank in the top 100’s in the popular real time strategy game, Warcraft III.
Josh was then introduced to the popular origin MOBA D.O.T.A Allstars before he was introduced to League of Legends. Josh has been coaching League of Legends at an amateur level for just over three years, streaming his diamond-ranked matches as well as writing articles on competitive League gameplay for fan-run website, themissingward.com. Josh specializes in playing Jungle, as his strengths in quick decision-making and tactical play are enhanced by the dynamic style of the role.
Throughout his 11 years in competitive gaming, Josh has been a leadership figure in the community, serving as Chieftain of his Clan in Warcraft III, owner of a popular League of Legends Discord server, and founding themissingward.com. As a result he has embuned his approach to coaching with an emphasis on robust competition among friends and a strong personal work ethic.
Having been immersed in the competitive gaming scene for his entire adult life, Josh has the in-depth knowledge and analytical skills to challenge players, develop their eSports potential, and push them to the limits of their ability.
Josh is excited to turn his passion for gaming and people towards forming a phenomenal team at Hawkeye, with ambitions to conquer the collegiate scene and continue to build a reputation of sportsmanlike excellence.
