Men’s Bowling Competes at Clarke Invite

DUBUQUE, IA–The RedTails Men's Bowling team competed at the Clarke Invite on January 21-22, 2023. 

Alex Sturbaum placed highest for the RedTails, coming in at 13th. Sturbaum totaled 996 pins and averaged 199 over five games. Jacob Butcher and Simon Larsen were next for the RedTails, placing 36th and 37th respectively. Butcher knocked down 889 pins over the weekend, averaging 177.8. Larsen scored 876 pins with an average of 175. 

The men placed ninth out of 12 teams at the tournament. Overall, the RedTails totaled 7,350 pins over the weekend. Head coach Roger Taylor said,"The name of the game this weekend was steady. The men stayed consistent throughout the entire tournament. The scores weren't too high but then they didn't have that many lows and were able to rebound very well. If they can have a similar mental outlook going forward and grind out the lows and rebound from the bad shots, they will be able to put themselves in a good position."

The RedTails will travel to Cedar Rapids for the KoHawk Invite on February 4-5, 2023 for their next competition.
