RedTail Men’s Bowling Takes on Nationals
CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y.–The RedTails traveled to New York for the NJCAA Nationals in collegiate bowling in a three-day tournament from March 2-4.
The RedTails were challenged greatly during these three days. With hundreds of student-athletes from NJCAA schools all over the country, the RedTails knew they had some fierce competition.
The men's team competed against 23 other schools, and received an 11th overall ranking for the weekend, with 12,963 points. The men ranked 9th overall in singles and doubles scores with 5,659 points, and thirteenth overall in the 5-man, with 5,522. Their baker scores went 596, 607, 579, which were some of the season-highs.
Individually, RedTail bowler Simon Larsen took the number 1 spot on the team, ranking 25th overall, with an overall score of 2,428 in his twelve games, an average of 202.3.
Head coach Roger Taylor said, "The outcome may not have been where we wanted, but it shows where we need to make improvements, so we will work on those going forward and make sure we are ready for next season."
We are excited to see what you and the team do next year, coach. Go RedTails!
