RedTail Men’s and Women’s Bowling Teams Head to Cedar Rapids for the Five Seasons Classic
On October 19-20, the RedTail bowlers traveled down to Cedar Rapids for the second week in a row, this time for the Five Seasons Classic, hosted by Mount Mercy. The format of the tournament was all based on a match point system, where each game or set of bakers was a match against a team that we were on the same pair of lanes with.
The RedTail men were pretty steady in their efforts in the event with a 4-6 win/loss record, which was good enough for a ninth-place finish. Sophomore Ryder Fleming once again was our top bowler, averaging 193.8 for his five games, finishing in 16th place. Freshman Tyson Bramble was the second high finisher for the men, who finished in 19th with a 192.4 average for five games.
The RedTail women struggled to find their stride and unfortunately fell short in about half of their matches. Going forward, this will be fuel to the fire that will help the girls rev up their efforts for the next time out. Brooklyn Bennett was the top finisher for the women, averaging 148 in 54th place.
We have a couple of weeks off from traveling, and the RedTails will work on areas that need some attention so we can be better prepared for our next tournament, which will be a big one, as we head back to Rockford, Illinois, for the Leatherneck Classic, November 9-10.
