RedTails Place Top Three After Strong Showing
MASON CITY–The RedTail Men's Golf team was able to come away with the third place trophy after their solid performance at the NIACC Spring Invitational on Thursday, April 15.
The RedTails were happy to enjoy some calmer winds, leading to some great stretches of golf from the team. The men finished with a team score of 303.
Freshman Tom Bell led the way for the RedTails, finishing third individually while shooting a 74. Sophomore Ethan Streicher was right behind Bell, as he shot a 75 to finish fifth individually.
"It was nice to play a round without wind to see where we are at as we prepare for regionals in a couple of weeks," said coach Mitch Destival. "The guys had some nice stretches of golf today and hopefully learned from the mistakes coming in which cost us a few strokes. We are starting to get things together and looking forward to the last few weeks of the season."
The RedTails will look to defend their home turf when they host the Hawkeye Invitational in Waterloo on Friday, April 16.
