RedTails Break School History With First Team Title
WATERLOO- The RedTails Men's Golf Team had an exceptional tournament at the Hawkeye Invite on Friday, April 16. With ideal weather conditions the team was able to perform at their best and win the tournament!
Sophomore Ethan Streicher placed first individual champion with a score of 69 which is a personal best and a tied school record. There were three others that didn't trail too far behind, freshman Tom Hall scoring in with a 71 and sophomores Ethan Fox and Austin Reynolds. Fox with a score of 77 and Reynolds at 79.
Overall the team scored a 296 to win the Hawkeye Invite which is a tied school record.
Head coach Micah Destival was very pleased with the RedTails win saying, "What a fantastic day to be a RedTail! We are so excited to get the first team title in school history but also our first individual champion in Ethan Streicher. Also a big back 9 for Austin Reynolds who shrugged off the slow start and played the back -2 to help us win the team title."
The RedTails will finish off their regular season at FoxRidge Golf Course in Dike, Iowa, on Thursday, April, 22.
