RedTails Sweep NIACC Invite

MASON CITY–The RedTails competed in the NIACC Invite at the Mason City Country Club on April 18, 2022, and placed first out of six teams.

The team collectively scored a 285, which was three under par.

Tom Bell placed first and broke a school record, with a score of 67, five under par.

The tie for fourth place was held by Grant Dekruyf, with a score of 71, which was one under par. 

Melker Andersson tied for seventh place with a score of 73, which was one over par.

The tie for tenth place was held by Luke Galeazzi, scoring a 74 which was two over par.

Aden Zwanziger tied for twenty-second place with a score of 78, six over par.

The tie for thirty-sixth place was held by Broc Shaw and Alijah Dopson, both scoring 82, which was ten over par.

The tie for thirty-ninth place was held by Carson Slezak and Kody Hoeger, who both scored 83, eleven over par.

Sacha Brown tied for thirty-third place with a score of 80, eight over par.

"What an outstanding day for Redtail golf," said head coach Micah Destival. "Tom Bell shoots a bogey free 67 and the team shoots a -3 285 to finish in a tie for first place. The hard work these guys have been putting in since August is starting to show itself this spring. The team has a lot of confidence as we finish up our year and head to regionals next week."

The RedTails are back in action on April 21, 2022, at the Mount Mercy Invite at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
