RedTail Men Place Seventh in Season Finale
Panora–The RedTail Men's Golf team finished up their fall season playing against 10 teams in the region on Monday and Tuesday, October 17-18th, at Lake Panorama National Golf Course. Conditions were below freezing with some gusty winds and the RedTails finished day one in fourth place with a round of 317. The second round was almost a repeat of day one with weather and the RedTails shot 317 for the 2nd day in a row to finish in seventh place.
Melker Andersson led the RedTails shooting rounds of 78-76 to finish in a tie for 10th.
"Andersson continued his strong play again this week with some good rounds in very cold weather" said coach Micah Destival.
Austin Reynolds was one shot back of Andersson, with rounds of 76-79 (T12 Place) and Luke Galeazzi finished the fall with rounds of 82-78 (T25th). Rounding out the top five were Grant Dekruyf who fired an 81-84 (T40th) and Max Naumann who shot 86-86 (T54th).
Sacha Brown rounded out the RedTails playing as an individual and posted rounds of 81-77 to finish in 24th place.
Coach Destival was very happy with the fall season.
"This team played a tough fall schedule and for the most part were rewarded by it," he said. "I think we learned a lot about our golf games the past couple months that we can tweek in the off-season to emerge better in the spring."
The RedTails enter the offseason ranked 12th on Golfstat and T11th in the coaches poll. They will return to action in March.
