Hawkeye RedTails Wrap Up Strong Showing at The Mustang Derby
Oliver Thompson Fires Career-Low Round as Team Prepares for TPC Deere Run Finale
The Hawkeye RedTails Men's Golf Team wrapped up play at The Mustang Derby, hosted at Whispering Creek Golf Club, with a standout performance by sophomore Oliver Thompson, who carded a career-low 2-under-par 70 in the second round of the tournament.
Despite tough course conditions, Thompson showcased poise and execution throughout the round, sticking to his game plan and converting several key putts. His stellar play marked the low round of the tournament for the RedTails and was a personal best in collegiate competition.
"It was great seeing Oliver Thompson shoot his career low of 70 in the 2nd round in Sioux City. The course was playing tough and he really stuck to his game plan while also making some key putts to close out the round. Excited to go to TPC Deere Run next week to finish the fall season."

With momentum building, the team now sets its sights on the fall season finale at TPC Deere Run next week, where they'll look to finish strong against a competitive field on one of the Midwest's premier championship courses.
