Mens & Women's Soccer Scrimmage at Wartburg
RedTail Soccer had their second scrimmage of the year on the road at Wartburg College on August 27, where the boys lost in a close game 2-1 and the girls fell 4-0.
Both the boys and girls teams put up valiant efforts against the Wartburg Knights but came up short in their effort. Tom Preece was able to get the boys on the board by successfully converting a PK but ultimately came up just short.
Men's head coach Anthony Velez had some positive words after the RedTails second scrimmage of the season
"I think the boys played better than we did our first scrimmage," he said. "We got to see a couple players play that we wanted to and a couple in different positions.Though the result was not in our favor we know what we have to work on for Wednesday's game."
Women's head coach Chris Rennie also had some positive words to say about how the girls played in their second game together.
"It was great to get another run out against a four year school this week," he said. "We have a large freshman class this year who are quickly learning and adapting to life in college soccer. Playing games like these paints a clearer picture to our players of what we are striving to be, as we try to develop our own team culture and chemistry."
The RedTails next matchup will be on the road Wednesday, August 31, at 1:00pm and 3:00pm. vs. Iowa Lakes Community College.
