Male Athlete of the Week-Tom Preece

RedTail soccer student-athlete Tom Preece has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performance this season as the RedTails Men's Soccer Captain.

Tom was an exceptional leader this season and helped the RedTails to the second round of the postseason Region XI Championship playoffs. Tom was able to help set up two assists in the last three games of the season, scoring one goal for himself to help with the RedTails postseason run. As a sophomore, Tom was able to finish his RedTail career with four total goals and six assists.

"Tom was our captain this past season and has performed very well this season," said interim head coach Anthony Velez. "Scoring once and assisting twice in our final three games of the season. He is someone that I can always look to help the team in any way possible. He has done very well in the classroom during his time here, always maintaining a 3.7 GPA or higher. Tom will continue to help lead us this spring semester as he still tries to find the right fit for him to continue his academic and soccer career."

"This season has been a difficult one but I have loved every minute of it," said Tom. "I look forward to following where this soccer program goes in the future."
