Male Athlete of the Week-Ray Talbert
RedTail Track and Field runner Ray Talbert has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performance at UW-Platteville in Platteville, Wisconsin on February 12.
Ray set the Facility Record for the Men's 60m-Dash at UW-Platteville with a time of 6.84s. He has lowered the school record four times this season to 6.79s. Ray currently sits ranked #15 in the NJCAA overall. He is also ranked #4 all time in program history with his time of 22.07s in the 200 meter.
"Ray is a positive leader for our team, he constantly motivates his teammates," said coach Tyler Mulder. "He's a blessing to work with as he's constantly working to perfect his craft. The best thing about working with Ray is that he listens and applies both in practice and in competitions."
"It's been a big indoor season for me as I plan on competing at Nationals and then carry the momentum into Outdoor," says Ray. "I've been reaching my goals this season and my ultimate goal is to be an All-American."
Talbert is originally from Waterloo.
