RedTails Put up Second-Best Time in Program History
OSKALOOSA-The RedTails competed in the William Penn Invitational on April 14-15 and walked away with personal records, event wins, and the second-best time in program history.
In the 100 meter dash, Ray Talbert qualified for the final with the top time of 10.69, just above the legal wind and just behind the school record. Keegan Thompson posted a personal record time of 11.01 and Brigham Daniel also scored a personal record with a time of 11.09.
Connor Belken and Blake Osborn got first and second place in the 200 and Thompson placed fourth, while Daniel took seventh and Jeron Shaw placed tenth overall.
Jeron Shaw placed fifth overall with a time of 52.81 in the 400.
In the 5K, D'Artagnon Beaver won the meet with a national qualifying time of 15:24.67.
In the 400 Hurdles, Isaac Vaske placed third with Edgar Tapia not far behind, placing fourth. Zane Vance placed seventh.
The 4x1 consisting of Talbert, Osborn, Brigham Daniel and Belken posted the second best time in program history of 41.88, just shy of hitting the NJCAA auto standard.
The 4x4 relay consisting of Osborn, Vaske, Tapia and Belken capped off the meet with a win with a time of 3:21.14.
Blake Veenstra won the shot put, discus, and placed third in the hammer throw.
The RedTails are back in action on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Musco Twilight at the University of Iowa.
