RedTails Compete Solid at Kip Janvrin
INDIANOLA–The men and women RedTail athletes competed in the Simpson College Kip Janvrin meet on April 29, 2022.
In the 100-meter dash, Ray Talbert placed fourth with a time of 10.66.
Jacob Jensen placed 15th in the 200, with a time of 22.50. Jensen also placed 15th in the 400, with a time of 51.15.
Tyler Colvin placed 14th in the 1500 with a time of 3:59.72 to qualify for nationals.
In the 400 hurdles Isaac Vaske placed 12th with a time of 57.08.
D'Artagnon Beaver punched his ticket to nationals in the 3K steeple with a time of 9:53.31, placing twenty-first.
The 4x400 relay team consisting of Zane Vance, Orlando Vivians, Heath Wyant and Renajid Kajtezovic took fifth place with a time of 3:32.15.
Blake Veenstra placed ninth in the shot put with a distance of 15.82 meters.
"The men's team put up some really solid times across the board, Colvin improved his school record in the 1500 and qualified for nationals in the process, he keeps getting stronger and stronger each week," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "Beaver also punched his ticket to nationals in the 3K steeple, which was a lot of fun for the team as the team ran around the track cheering him on along the way!"

In the 100, Jenna Hummell placed ninth with a time of 12.43.
A new school record holder, Maci Freund ran a time of 1:00.16 in the 400.
Emma Hoins placed ninth in the 1500, with a time of 4:43.18, which was a new personal best time for her and also improved the school record mark.
Kylee Neighbors placed 17th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.95. Neighbors also placed tenth in the high jump with a mark of 1.48 meters.
Allison Flanscha placed 17th in the shot put with a mark of 11.63.
In the javelin, Flanscha placed 16th with a mark of 28.24. Carlie Hoppe was not far behind, placing 22nd with a mark of 25.65.
"Overall the women's team ran consistently and strong with two new school records from Maci Freund and Emma Hoins," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "We were selective with our racing as the women's team all paired up to run at the Drake Relays on the same day!"
