RedTail Men's Track and Field Compete at the Region XI Champs
WATERLOO–The RedTail Men's Track and Field team competed at the Region XI Championships on May 7. They scored fourth as a team with 82 points.
400M- Blake Osborn led the RedTails with a seventh place finish and a time of 49.60, followed by Brigham Daniel in eighth with a time of 49.71, Sean Knockel in ninth with a time of 50.16, Kaden Miller in 11th with a time of 50.45, Jeron Shaw in 16th with a time of 51.27, Orlando Vivians in 18th with a time of 52.74, and Kewan McCully in 21st with a time of 56.48.
400M Hurdles- Kenny Cutler represented the RedTails with a ninth place finish and a time of 56.55.
800M- Chase Mullinex placed 12th with a time of 1:59.16, followed by Brock Meyer in 16th with a time of 2:03.79, Austin Langreck in 18th with a time of 2:07.05, and Bryce Grissom in 27th with a time of 2:25.54.
1,000M- D'Artagnon Beaver represented the RedTails with a third place finish and a time of 33.44:64.
1,500M- D'Artagnon Beaver placed fourth with a time of 4:02.41, followed by Kory Sweeney in eleventh with a time of 4:45.32, and Bryce Grissom in 13th with a time of 5:05.19.
5,000M- Zach Niederklopfer represented the RedTails with a fifth place finish and a time of 17:06.12.
4x100 Relay- The RedTails placed fourth with a time of 42.31. The relay consisted of Shaw, Miller, Daniel, and Osborn.
4x400 Relay- The RedTails placed third with a time of 3:23.85 (Cutler, Sheridan, Helligna, and Vivians), and sixth with a time of 3:32.55 (Knockel, Miller, Osborn, Daniel).
High Jump- Matthew Benedict represented the RedTails with a fifth place finish and a height of 1.91m.
Long Jump- Gannon O'Hara represented the RedTails with a 14th place finish and a distance of 6.37m.
Hammer Throw- Tino Tamayo led in fourth place with a distance of 42.46m, followed by Brandt Williams in eighth with a distance of 38.21m, Benjamin Fransen in tenth with a distance of 35.19m, Beau Brackemeyer in 11th with a distance of 34.53m, and Aterryon Williams in 13th with a distance of 23.61m.
Javelin- Brandt Williams placed third with a distance of 47.14m, followed by Aaron Campbell in seventh with a distance of 42.74m, Tino Tamayo in eighth with a distance of 39.43m, and Travis Brace in 16th with a distance of 28.10m.
Pole Vault- Travis Brace placed third with a height of 3.05m, followed by Aaron Campbell who placed fifth with a height of 2.85m.
Shot Put- Tino Tamayo placed sixth with a distance of 13.37m, followed by Benjamin Fransen who placed eighth with a distance of 12.18m, Brandt Williams who placed ninth with a distance of 12.04m, Aaron Campbell who placed 12th with a distance of 10.53m, Beau Brackenmeyer who placed 13th with a distance of 10.23m, and Aterryon Williams who placed 15th with a distance of 9.49m.
Discus Throw- Brandt Williams placed fourth with a distance of 41.57m, followed by Aaron Campbell in fifth with a distance of 40.54m, Tino Tamayo in ninth with a distance of 36.33m, Benjamin Fransen in 11th with a distance of 35.26m, Beau Brackenmeyer in 15th with a distance of 32.46m, and Aterryon Williams in 18th with a distance of 22.64m.
"We defeated Division I, Indian Hills, and I am very proud of them. Our men also had their highest outdoor team finish, taking 4th place in the Region. It was a total team effort by the entire team," said coach Scott Roberts.
