HAWKEYE MEN’S TRACK & FIELD ADDS HIGH JUMPER ETHAN WINNIKE
Hawkeye Community College is excited to welcome Ethan Winnike, a standout high jumper from La Porte City, Iowa, to the RedTail Men's Track & Field program. Winnike comes from Union Community High School and will begin his academic journey at Hawkeye as an undecided major, exploring his interests as he develops as both a student and athlete.
Ethan began track and field in 7th grade—the first year he was eligible—and quickly found his passion in the high jump. Since then, he has continued to elevate his performance each season. As a junior, he qualified for the Iowa State Track Meet and went on to break his school's high jump record, marking him as one of the top athletes in his program's history.
Looking ahead to joining the RedTails, Ethan shared his excitement:
"I am excited to keep getting better and jumping higher than ever. I've been doing track since 7th grade, and last year I made it to state and broke the school record. I can't wait to break even more of my goals in the near future."
Hawkeye Track & Field gains a driven, goal-oriented athlete with strong upward momentum, and Ethan brings both talent and ambition to the RedTail jumps squad.
