RedTails with Dominant Showing at Hawkeye Invitational
RedTail Track & Field delivered a standout performance at the Hawkeye Invitational held on January 9–10, 2026, at the University of Iowa. Competing against a field that included NCAA Division I programs like Iowa, Northern Iowa, and Western Illinois, the RedTails secured multiple top-10 finishes and several new NJCAA leading marks.
Men's Team Highlights
The men's squad showcased elite speed and depth across the board:

Sprints: Freshman Tarelle Hoskins was a top performer, finishing 2nd overall in the 300m with a time of 34.58. In the 60m dash, he posted an impressive 6.97 in the prelims, ranking him #16 in the NJCAA.

Relays: The 4x400m relay team (Hoskins, Burnham, Steele, Stevenson) took 4th place with a time of 3:37.92, a mark that currently ranks #10 in the NJCAA.

Throws: Freshman Eric Neipert had a strong weekend in the field, ranking #3 in the NJCAA for the Weight Throw (12.03m) and #9 in the Shot Put (11.42m).
Women's Team Highlights
The women's team was led by dominant performances in the throwing events:

Throws: Freshman Riley Goddard claimed 1st place in the Weight Throw with a toss of 16.42m, setting the #1 mark in the NJCAA. Sophomore Kailan McEwen followed closely in 3rd place (15.31m), ranking #2 nationally. McEwen also leads the NJCAA in the Shot Put after a 4th place finish at the meet (12.47m).

Sprints: Freshman Autumn Damm posted solid results, finishing 5th in the 200m (28.64) and 6th in the 300m (45.10).
"This weekend was about more than just numbers; it was about showing that we belong on the same track as the top programs in the country," said head coach Dae'Trell Gordon. "Seeing our throwers take over the national leaderboard and our sprinters step up in the finals proves the work we've put in since August is paying off."
