RedTail Men Take on 8K for the First Time
The RedTail Men's Cross Country team took first place at the 27th annual Mount Mercy Mustang Gallop on September 25. The men's team was short handed and still came out with the victory.
Sam Mickelson led the charge for the men's team, placing first overall with a time of 26:32.98. Placing second overall was Harrison Vanderlinden with a finishing time of 27:08.12. The next runner to cross the finish line was Kolby Winter with a time of 28:43.67, landing him in fourth place overall. The next two finishers were Dodson Melchiori (29:21.94) and Ryan Moore (32:14.07) finishing in sixth and tenth place overall.
"This was the men's team 1st 8k of the season so it was nice to get a low pressure environment to see how everyone would respond to the distance," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "I'm really looking forward to what these guys can put together at the NIACC course with a full force team on both sides."
The RedTail men will compete next at the NIACC Trent Smith competition on October 9.
