RedTail Men Tightens Splits in Second 8K
The RedTail Men's Cross Country team took fourth place in the NIACC Trent Smith Invitational on October 9. The men ran their second 8K of the season.
Sam Mickelson led the charge for the men's team, placing first overall with a time of 26:17.17. This was Mickelson's third overall win this season. Placing eighth overall was Harrison Vanderlinden with a time of 27:19.75. The next runner to cross the finish line was Kolby Winter with a time of 28:23.62, placing 15th overall. The next two finishers were Brandon Conrad (29:11.24,22) and Dodson Melchiori (29:48.59,27).
"The top five guys average time improved for the second 8K of the year, which will help in rankings. However, we need to figure a way to get our 3,4,5 guys to pack it up a bit more to help carry each other throughout the race," said head coach Tyler Mulder.
The RedTail men will compete next at the Indian Hills Invite on October 24.
