The RedTails Break School Record for Highest Finish at NJCAA Division ll Nationals

The RedTail Men's Cross Country team took sixth place at the NJCAA Division II Nationals on Saturday, November 14, with Sam Mickelson and Brandon Conrad earning All-American honors.

"I'm proud of these guys, our sophomores (Conrad & Samuelson) stepped up and really left their mark," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "We went from no All Americans to Two All Americans in one race, so these guys can walk away from that race very proud as well!"

Mickelson led the way, taking seventh overall, finishing in 25:56.06. Brandon Conrad finished 18th overall with a time of 26:47.61. Kolby Winter crossed the finish line next (27:24.26, 30). Rounding out the top five were Harrison Vanderlinden (28:19.28,58) and Tyler Colvin (28:48.92,58). Dodson Melchiori was the RedTail's sixth runner finishing with a time of 29:18.12. 

"They helped show the younger crew that hard work and determination can take you to the next step," Mulder said. "We did battle outside elements with Covid, but the men really handled it all with poise and patience."

The RedTail women will be back in action for the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships on Tuesday, November 17.
