RedTails Battle at Dutch Cross Country Open
On Friday, Sept. 26, the Hawkeye Community College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Pella, Iowa, to compete in the Dutch Cross Country Open Invitational hosted by Central College.
The RedTail men ran their first 8K race of the season, with freshman Brady Eike leading the squad in a time of 31:38.3. On the women's side, sophomore Roselle Ward made her season debut in the 6K, finishing in 30:44.9.
Head coach Dae'trell Gordon praised the groups resilience saying:
He went on to praise the group's resilience, saying:
"I'm proud of the way both teams performed. These student-athletes have consistently accepted every challenge thrown at them, and once again they showed toughness and grit from start to finish."
Looking ahead, he added:
"With our season now halfway complete, we're excited to keep building momentum and prepare to finish strong."
The RedTails will return to action on Friday, Oct. 10, competing at the Indian Hills Invitational in Ottumwa, Iowa.
