RedTails Build Momentum at Indian Hills Invitational
On October 10, the RedTail men's and women's cross country teams traveled to compete at the Indian Hills Invitational, where the men ran the 8K and the women took on the 5K course. With postseason preparation in mind, the RedTails strategically rested three of their top men, allowing time to recover and refocus for the championship stretch.
Even with a smaller lineup, the men's team made a strong statement, each of the three competitors recorded either a season best or personal best. Freshman Brady Eike once again led the pack, followed closely by Samuel Brace and Xander Meyerhoff. Going three-for-three on top performances showcased the team's discipline and progress.
On the women's side, Roselle Wardell and Cecilia Smith represented Hawkeye with grit and determination. Their teamwork and drive continue to set the tone for the program's culture of steady improvement and support.
Head Coach Gordon praised the team's development and gave special credit to Assistant Coach David Holsinger, noting his impact on the cross country and distance program.
"Through this rebuilding and rebranding year, Coach Holsinger's dedication and vision are transforming our team for the better," Gordon said.
The RedTails continue to build momentum and confidence as they head into postseason competition, looking to finish the fall on a strong note.
