Sports Shooting Competes at Southeastern Community College
BURLINGTON, IA- The Hawkeye Community College RedTails Sports Shooting team competed at Southeastern Community College's (SCC) Blackhawk Invitational this past Saturday. The RedTails placed second, with a total score of 464, falling just shy of first place. Iowa Central Community College took first place with a total score of 488. Third place was awarded to Southwestern Community College's team with a score of 463, falling one point short from tying with the RedTails for second place.
Hawkeye's top individual scorer was Marcus Draves, who shot a total of 95 out of 100, placing him 14th in the overall individual standings for men. One point from Draves was Austin Boldt, who finished out with a score of 94, placing him 15th overall. Tying individually for the RedTails were Austin Carolus and David Spier, scoring 92. Joey Sanford rounded out the top 5 for the RedTails with a final score of 91. Emily Klein finished the day with an 89 out of 100, placing her 5th overall for women. Klein was followed closely by fellow RedTail, Amber Barloon, with a final score of 88, placing her 6th overall for women.
The RedTails Sports Shooting team is scheduled to compete Saturday, September 24, at New Hampton. The team will be competing at the Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Invitational. Competition begins at 10:00 a.m.
