RedTails Take Fourth at 2017 Iowa SCTP Collegiate Championships
WATERLOO- The Hawkeye RedTails finished fourth in the 2017 Iowa Collegiate Trap Championship this past weekend. The shot a team score of 870, with Marcus Draves and Emily Klein as the top shooters. Both Draves and Klein broke 183 out of 200, good enough to earn Klein a fourth place finish in the women's division and Draves a 13th place finish in the men's division.
Ross Wolken, Jason Sadowski, and Austin Boldt rounded out the top five for the RedTails. Wolken broke a 178, Sadowski a 164, and Boldt a 162. Iowa Central Community College went on to win the meet with a score of 970. They had the top six shooters in the men's division and the top two shooters from the women's division. Seth Heinold had the best score of the weekend with a 197, while his teammate, Jessica Gunderson, led all women shooters with a 192.
This Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Collegiate Championship meet concludes the 2016-2017 Sports Shooting season for the RedTails. The team showed well this year taking Second in the Iowa SCTP Collegiate Trap League, Third at the SCTP Nationals in Ohio, and Fifth at the ACUI Nationals in Texas. The RedTails will be back in action next fall!
