RedTails Put Together Strong Performance at Sport Shooting State Championships
WATERLOO-The RedTail Sport Shooting team had many standout performances at the Iowa SCTP State Collegiate Championships on Saturday, April 10.
As a team, the RedTails put together an impressive group effort. Despite facing a deep and competitive field of competitors, the RedTails placed third overall in skeet. The RedTails posted an impressive 280 birds in skeet, just four birds short of first place. The team went on to place fourth overall in the sporting clays, scoring a total of 221 birds.
Grace Eisenbarth stole the show for the RedTails, as she won the state championship in female sporting clays. In addition to her state championship, Eisenbarth walked away with third place in skeet. Jake Maakestad also got in on the action, placing second in skeet as a male.
"We are proud the RedTail Sports Shooting team added a third place team, state champion, second place, and two third place honors," said head coach Troy Emley.
The RedTails will look to continue their success when they participate in the ICCAC Conference Championship on Saturday, April 17.
