Rylie Devlin | SCHEELS Female Athlete of the Week

Rylie Devlin of the Hawkeye Community College Softball team has been named the SCHEELS Female Athlete of the Week after delivering a clutch performance in a comeback win over Northeast Community College.

Devlin came through in the bottom of the seventh inning with the RedTails trailing by one, launching her first collegiate home run to tie the game and send it into extra innings. She finished the game 2-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI, and the game-tying home run.

"It was so fun to see Rylie's first collegiate home run," says head coach Courtney Calkins. "Being down in the seventh, we only had one more chance to tie the game, and Rylie came through for us, sending us into extra innings. I'm very proud of Rylie and all her hard work this season."

Devlin's timely hit and continued growth have made her an important contributor for the RedTails this season.
