RedTail Softball Inks Akayla Tittsworth
RedTail Softball head coach Courtney Calkins announces the signing of Akayla Tittsworth to the 2026 recruiting class. Tittsworth is the daughter of Cora Jackson and Travis Tittsworth and attends Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She plans to pursue an associate of arts and become a Radiology Technologist.
During her time in high school, during her senior season, Tittsworth put together a .339 batting average with 19 hits, including two doubles, two triples, and one homerun. She collected eleven RBI’s, ten runs scored, and three stolen bases. She also maintained a .933 fielding percentage.
She earned All-Conference Second Team and All-City Honorable Mention. Outside of softball, she has been on the Honor Roll and Athletic Director Honor Roll. She has been involved in basketball, flag football, Younglife, and Youth Group. She has also spent time volunteering for concessions and her church.
Tittsworth had this to say about playing at the next level, “I am beyond excited to get the chance to play softball at a higher level. I am even more excited to meet my teammates and hopefully meet my life long friends!”
“Akayla will be a great addition to our program,” commented head coach Courtney Calkins. “She is always putting her best foot forward and her energy is contagious. On the field, she is a dedicated, hard-working athlete who wants to continue to improve. She will be a dynamic player for us in the outfield and at the plate. I can’t wait to see what her future holds here at Hawkeye.”
