Women’s Bowling Resiliency Shows at Mckendree Baker Challenge
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, ILL-The RedTail Women's Bowling team battled through tough competition this past weekend, February 6-7, at the Mckendree Baker Challenge.
The RedTails were looking to build off of their spectacular season opener in Dubuque at the Clarke Invite, but slow starts on both days stifled the performance. Despite the slow starts, the women showed their resiliency on Saturday, posting a 242 in the final game of the baker set and launching the RedTails into sixth place when the day concluded. The women gave their best effort on Sunday as well, but fell to ninth place at day's end.
Freshman Braley Bogart highlighted the weekend with her individual effort in the leadoff spot. Bogart anchored the team throughout the weekend with her strong play and leadership.
"We really had to grind this weekend, but we will take the experience back with us and build for our home meet this weekend," said head coach Heath Kohl.
The RedTails look forward to coming back home to Waterloo, Iowa, this weekend, as they will play in their home tournament, the Hawkeye RedTails Invited, which starts Saturday, February, 13.
