RedTail Women’s Bowling Finishes in 13th Place at the Kohawk Invitational
CEDAR RAPIDS- The RedTail Women's Bowling team battled against a crowded, competitive field to come out 13th at the Kohawk Invitational on February 5th.
Leading the RedTails, sophomore, Whitney Morse was the highest scorer with a 907 for her five games, which put her at 45th place overall. Right behind Morse, Hannah Axline finished in 47th place with a 904 total.
The junior varsity team ended up in sixth place out of eight teams in their division. They were led by sophomore Braley Bogart, who finished in 62nd place with a 882 total. Bogart was followed by Freshman Emma Pitz, who finished in 64th place with a 881 total.
The RedTails consistently averaged around the 175 mark for each of the games. Both the JV and varsity teams worked well together and fed off each other's positive energy, allowing everyone to concentrate more on their shot making.
"Overall, this weekend provided some much needed momentum going into our NJCAA National Championship coming up the first week of March and my personal opinion, based on this weekend's showing, I believe our RedTails can make a run at a top spot during nationals week," said assistant coach Roger Taylor.
Next up for the RedTails is the Hoosier Classic on Friday, February 18.
