RedTail Women’s Bowling Competes at Titan Invite

WATERLOO-The Hawkeye RedTail women's bowling team headed to Neenah, Wisconsin to compete at the Titan Invite on November 5 and 6, 2022, placing sixth out of eight at the competition. 

Madison Shontz placed the highest for the RedTail women, finishing 12th out of 61 bowlers. Shontz rolled a 1,011 through six games, averaging a score of 168 pins. The RedTails scored 4262 on day one and finished the weekend with 6,646 while competing in the varsity bracket. 

Scores were low across the board at the invite with the leading team averaging only 177. "Typically the scoring pace is not that low at any other tournament," said Roger Taylor, head bowling coach. According to Taylor, the women were able to power through the tough conditions by cheering each other on and keeping the energy up throughout the entire event.
