SCARLETT PETRZELKA SIGNS WITH HAWKEYE COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BOWLING
Hawkeye Community College is excited to announce that Scarlett Petrzelka has signed to continue her academic and athletic career with the Women's Bowling program.
Petrzelka comes to Hawkeye from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in Shellsburg, Iowa. She has been involved in the sport of bowling for seven to eight years, developing consistency, discipline, and a strong competitive foundation. Her long-term commitment to the sport has helped shape both her growth as a bowler and her passion for competing at the next level.
As she joins the RedTails, Petrzelka is looking forward to continuing her development on the lanes while beginning her academic path in Nursing. She is excited for the opportunity to pursue her career goals while remaining involved in a sport that has played a major role in her life.
"I'm excited to finally be able to start the career I've wanted to pursue, as well as continue being involved in a sport that I've grown so much in," Petrzelka said.
"Scarlett is always trying to learn new things and has an eagerness to gain as much knowledge as she can," says Head Coach Roger Taylor. "I would say that Scarlett has broadened her horizons by attending not just camps and clinics that we have hosted through our college program but other events as well where she was able to learn what she could about the physical game, mental game and lane play. That desire to learn and grow is something that a lot of kids can take note of when watching Scarlett, and she uses that passion to help lead her high school team as well. I have been fascinated with the eagerness to learn that Scarlett has shown over these few years that I have come to know her."
Hawkeye Community College welcomes Scarlett Petrzelka to the RedTail family and looks forward to her future contributions to the Women's Bowling program.
