RedTails Host Cedar Valley Invite
The RedTails hosted the Cedar Valley Invite January 31-February 1, an exciting tournament format that featured head to head matchups against paired teams.
This year's event saw the largest turnout the RedTails have had in past seasons, giving both teams the opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd filled with family and friends. The tournament also drew several highly ranked programs, including Mount Mercy and Missouri Baptist.
There were a lot of close matches but ultimately the RedTail men and women both finished with a 2-4 record. With their records and total pins factored in, the women's team finished in 12th, while the men were in 15th.
Top bowlers for each team were Kiyrah Karstens, averaging 186.33 for her three games and finishing in 32nd place, and Malcolm Clark was in 35th place averaging 213.3. Both Kiyrah and Malcolm have stepped up this year as leaders in their own ways and it shows.
"We will take what we learned from this past weekend and try to better ourselves to get ready to compete in the KoHawk coming up hosted by Coe College in Cedar Rapids." said head coach Roger Taylor.
