RedTails Women’s Golf Continues Upward Trend at Waldorf Fall Challenge
The Hawkeye Community College RedTails women's golf team took another positive step forward in their development with a determined showing at the 2025 Waldorf University Fall Challenge, held September 29 at Rice Lake Golf & Country Club. Competing against NAIA programs on a challenging course layout, the RedTails turned in a collective effort that demonstrated both improvement and resilience.
Leading the way was sophomore Grace Burg, who posted a 97 (+26) after opening with a 52 on the front nine and closing with a solid 45. Just one stroke back, Eve Brumbaugh turned in a 98 (+27), highlighted by steady play on the front nine with a 48. Makenna Brissey contributed a 100 (+29), showing consistency across both sides with balanced scores of 48 and 52.
Natalie Sinnwell added a 102 (+31), continuing to gain competitive experience in her first season, while Maddie Sundine rounded out the lineup with a 107 (+36), grinding through the back nine after a steady opening stretch.
Head Coach Micah Destivals was encouraged by the team's continued progress, noting the work being done behind the scenes. "The women continue to improve and eliminate a few of the mistakes we've been making. They have put in nice practice the last couple weeks and we're looking forward to ending the fall season at TPC Deere Run in a couple weeks."
The RedTails will now shift their focus to the final event of the fall season - a visit to the renowned TPC Deere Run, where they'll look to cap off the semester with their strongest performance yet.
