RedTails Stand Strong Against Warriors
On January 14, Hawkeye Community College hosted a dual wrestling meet against Indian Hills Community College. The RedTails showcased strong individual performances across both divisions, highlighted by several dominant pinfall victories in the women's matchups.
Hawkeye Women's Highlights
The women's squad secured three impressive victories, all coming by way of a fall:

103 lbs: Lemuna Gurisho pinned her opponent in 3:40, scoring 10 points in the process.

145 lbs: Meya Roberts delivered a swift victory with a pin in just 2:42.

207 lbs: Alyson Krum rounded out the top performances with a fall at the 3:31 mark.
Hawkeye Men's Highlights
In the men's dual, Hawkeye athletes faced a technical challenge but saw key defensive and scoring efforts from several starters:

174 lbs: Austin Pfantz fought through a long match, scoring 6 points against a high-paced opponent.

157 lbs: Jackson Turner managed to put 4 points on the board during his technical fall match.

149 lbs & 197 lbs: Tate Turner and Johnathan Kelly both contributed points in their respective bouts, showing resilience against tough competition.
"I'm incredibly proud of the grit our athletes showed tonight," said head coach Dan Lovell. "Seeing our women secure those three big pins really set the tone for the energy we want in this building. Even in the matches that didn't go our way on the scoreboard, our guys were fighting for every point until the final whistle."
