RedTail Women’s Soccer Team Ties with Grand View University
The RedTail women's soccer team traveled to Des Moines, IA, on Saturday, April 5, where they competed in a scrimmage game at the Grand View Open.
The women competed hard against the Vikings of Grand View University and ended the game with a tie of 1-1. Scoring the lone goal for the RedTails was Annabell Veryard.
"Overall I was really pleased with today's performance. I think any time we come to a 4 school and gain a positive result, it is a good reflection on our program", said Head Coach Christopher Rennie.
"This was our first competitive game since our regional final back in November. I was really happy with our fitness levels and tactical structure in the first half of the game. In the second half we made an adjustment to our shape as we felt we needed more width in our attack, the team adapted to this change really well and quickly found the goal to put us ahead. I felt for long periods of both halves we really dominated possession and kept pushing Grand View back. We were disappointed to concede a goal late and to come away with a tie, but I felt that this was a really useful outing for us and we took away a lot of positives from our first game in 5 months."
