RedTail Women’s Soccer Team Finds Victory Over Upper Iowa
The RedTail women's soccer team scrimmaged against Upper Iowa on Thursday, April 17. The RedTails found the goal three times, beating the Peacocks 3-1.
Jil Lehmann scored two of the three goals and Nelly Dallmann scored the third.
"This spring, we have had a big focus on our identity in possession, trying to take the game to the opposition and dominate more possession without sacrificing everything we are out of possession," said head coach Christopher Rennie.
"Tonight felt like a big step in the right direction. Defensively, we got back to ourselves. We battled, competed and fought for everything. In possession, especially towards the end of the first half and the majority of the second, we played some really nice stuff. The ladies look very comfortable and controlled in each third of the field. The three goals were ones you want to watch back again and again."
"To come to another four-year D2 school on this occasion and get another positive result is so pleasing and really shows the levels that these players can compete at. It's been a good spring so far but we have another hard challenge away to William Penn on Saturday, but we want to go there and wrap our spring season against four years schools undefeated."
