Emilia Kristensen Named NJCAA DII Women’s Goalkeeper of the Week
Goalkeeper Emilia Kristensen earned NJCAA Division II Women's Goalkeeper of the Week honors after a dominant week between the posts for the RedTails. Kristensen started twice and posted back-to-back shutouts, helping Hawkeye preserve perfect defensive performances across 180 minutes of action.
Her stellar week is part of an eye-catching season: Kristensen now owns eight clean sheets and has conceded just two goals in 10 appearances. Over the course of the week she faced seven shots, played 180 minutes, and recorded two clean sheets — numbers that helped secure the NJCAA weekly nod and provided stability for Hawkeye's backline.
Kristensen's consistency has been a cornerstone of Hawkeye's defensive success this season. Limiting opponents to just two goals across ten matches highlights both her shot-stopping ability and the team's organization in front of her. Those shutouts this week not only earned national recognition, they also gave the RedTails a huge boost in confidence heading into the next stretch of conference play.
