RedTail Women Take on the NJCAA Indoor Nationals
GAINESVILLE, FLA.- RedTail Women's Track and Field found great success at the NJCAA Indoor Nationals March 1-2, setting several personal best times.
Freshman Amber Homan had a successful national meet, setting two new personal and season bests in the 600m and 1000m. In the 600m, she finished 18th(1:40.19) and 20th (3:06.80) in the 1000-meter race. "Going into Nationals and those two races, I wasn't completely sure what to expect. Maybe I didn't place as high as I thought I could, but I was still very happy with two new season bests in races I've never run before," said Homan.
Sophomore Darcee O'Loughlin also competed for the RedTails in the weight throw and finished in 19th (12.60m).
Coach Roberts commented that the team did well due to having limited national experience. Roberts said they will return to the outdoor season, be competitive, and do well at the national championships. Roberts said, "I'm very proud of the team and the effort they gave this weekend."
