RedTails Track and Field Competes at Friday Night Lights
The RedTails stayed close to home this weekend, competing at Wartburg College's Friday Knight Lights Meet from January 30th to 31st.
Women's Team Highlights
Sprints

Autumn Damm put together one of the best all‑around sprint days for the RedTails:

6th in the 400m with a season‑best 59.54, one of the top NJCAA marks in the field.

10th in the 200m in 27.34.

Competed in the 60m prelims as well, showing range across all sprint events.

Mid‑Distance

Mallori Jones delivered a major highlight in the 800m, placing 5th overall with 2:19.59, an NJCAA‑qualifying mark.
Throws

Riley Goddard had a breakout day:

4th in the Weight Throw with a huge toss of 16.39m, one of the best NJCAA marks in the region.

15th in Shot Put with 12.60m.

Kailan McEwen added depth in both throws:

7th in Weight Throw at 15.42m.

10th in Shot Put with 11.33m.

Men's Team Highlights
Sprints

Tarelle Hoskins led the men's squad with two top‑tier performances:

2nd in the 200m with a sharp 22.49, one of the fastest NJCAA marks of the meet.

Tariq Moore added strong depth:

4th in the 200m (22.59).

Gunner Steele placed 9th in the 600m with 1:09.44.

Brady Eike finished 22nd in the Mile with 5:19.00.
Field Events

Ryan Leonard had one of the most versatile days of the meet:

11th in Pole Vault at 3.15m.

10th in Long Jump with 5.77m.

Eric Neipert threw well in both events:

11th in Shot Put with 12.57m.

19th in Weight Throw at 12.38m.

Coach Gordon was pleased with the RedTails performance and commented, "On January 30, our team competed at the Wartburg Friday Knight Lights meet and had strong performances on both the men's and women's sides. Sophomore Mallori Jones led the way by qualifying for nationals in the 800 meters with a school-record time of 2:19.51. In the throws, Kailan McEwen set a personal best at 15.42 meters, while freshman Riley Goddard recorded multiple throws over 16 meters. On the men's side, freshmen Tarelle Hoskins and Tariq Moore posted impressive personal bests in the 200 meters. Overall, our team is progressing well as we prepare for the Region 6 Championships."
