Hopkins Signs with RedTail Track and Field

Hawkeye Community College is excited to announce that Zion Hopkins, from Raytown South High School in Kansas City, Missouri, has committed to the RedTail Women's Track and Field program.

Zion comes to Hawkeye with an elite competitive background, having qualified for Nationals three times and State twice during her high school career. A specialist in sprints, she has been competing since the 7th grade and took her training to the next level during her freshman year. While competing for the RedTails, Zion plans to study Criminal Justice.

"I am very excited to come to HCC to grow as an adult and to push myself to be better in my individual events," Hopkins said. "I'm also excited to meet new people from around the world. My top achievements in this sport—going to Nationals three times and State twice—pushed me to want to be greater than the rest."
