Waterloo’s Newman to Compete for RedTail Track and Field

Hawkeye Community College is proud to welcome local standout Charity Newman from Waterloo East High School in Waterloo, Iowa, to the Women's Track and Field team.

Charity brings five and a half years of experience to the program, competing in both sprints and high jump. A dedicated athlete who didn't want her career to end after high school, she will pursue a Liberal Arts degree while competing at the next level for the RedTails.

"I'm most excited about coming to run for HCC because I get to continue my track career and do what I love at a higher level," Newman said. "I'm glad I don't have to stop at the five-year mark for track and I get to continue."
