Female Athlete of the Week-Ellie Gerdes

RedTail volleyball student-athlete Ellie Gerdes has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performances at the beginning of the season.

Ellie is a great captain and leader on the court. All season she has done really well for us while including everyone. Although the RedTails lost against Northeast Community College on August 29th, Ellie had a standout game with 11 Kills, 0 Errors, 17 attempts hitting, and a 0.647 hitting efficiency.

"Ellie is an excellent leader on and off the court she has a great attitude and is always fun to have in the gym," said head coach Tyann Wolfensperger. "Although we fell short against Northeast Ellie played very well to keep us in each set. She hit .647 and led the team with 11 kills."

Gerdes is originally from Cedar Falls.
