Hawkeye RedTails Sweep Marshalltown in Straight Sets Victory
The Hawkeye Community College RedTails continued their dominant run on Wednesday night, defeating Marshalltown Community College in a decisive 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-22, 25-18). With consistent play across all positions, Hawkeye's balanced attack and strong defense secured another impressive road win.
Sophomore Emersyn Secora led the offense with 13 kills, adding 15 digs for a strong all-around performance. Outside hitters Ruby Patterson and Jenna Scharper were key contributors as well, each posting 10 kills and hitting an efficient .391. Setter Kinzie Gardner directed the offense with 36 assists, keeping the Tigers' defense off balance throughout the match.
Defensively, the RedTails showed grit and teamwork, recording 66 digs and 12 block assists as a team. Alexie Hogan anchored the back row with 16 digs, while middle hitter Shannon Moorman added 8.5 points through a combination of kills and blocks.
