Hawkeye Drops Road Match to Indian Hills
Hawkeye Community College Volleyball fell in three straight sets (19–25, 8–25, 15–25) against a strong Indian Hills Community College squad on Thursday night at the Hellyer Center. With the loss, the RedTails move to 12–19 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 19–7.
Hawkeye opened the first set with solid energy, trading points early before Indian Hills pulled away late. The Warriors' efficient attack and steady defense made it tough for the RedTails to find a consistent rhythm throughout the night.
Sophomore Emersyn Secora led the way for Hawkeye with 8 kills, while Ruby Patterson followed with 5 kills and 7 total points. Setter Kinzie Gardner contributed 22 assists and 6 digs, running the offense and keeping plays alive. Jenna Scharper added 3 kills and a solo block to help on the defensive side.
Despite the loss, the RedTails showed fight in several long rallies, especially in the third set, where they battled to stay within striking distance.
Hawkeye will look to bounce back in their next matchup.
